The Rotonda West Community Church is a faithful, loving and diverse family style church shepherded by our pastor, Michael Smith. Jesus is the focus of our worship, study, music and mission. We believe that the Bible is the inspired Word of God, which helps instruct us in our daily living. We believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, and through His dying on the cross and His resurrection on the third day, we can obtain salvation: the forgiveness of our sins and life eternal in the Kingdom of God. We know that it is by the grace of God and faith in Jesus that we have this salvation and not through our own efforts. We also believe that God has given us His Holy Spirit, who is our teacher, guide and comforter, so that we may grow to become more like Jesus.
Our worship style is more on the traditional side, as we love singing the older hymns of the Church, but we are not adverse to singing some of the newer music of the church. We celebrate the sacrament of Holy Communion on the third Sunday of the month. We believe in the importance of our fellowshipping together, whether it be in our monthly potlucks, our weekly fellowship time, our choir ministry, our women’s ministry, our men’s monthly breakfast and devotion time, or even as we study the scripture and pray together. We have two patriotic services during the year. One around the 4th of July and the other around Veteran’s Day. We have at least a dozen veterans in our congregation.
We are governed by a Board made up of 2 Elders, 2 Deacons, our Finance Director, Treasurer, our Safety director, our Corporate Secretary and two lay members at large.
We believe in missions and are a strong supporter of our local Helping Hand food pantry, not only collecting food throughout the year, but we also have a 1000 item food challenge during the month of December. We support missionaries in Japan and in Jamaica, and we support the local Salvation Army. We have also supported the Samaritan’s Purse Ministry, under the direction of Franklin Graham, and their national and international aid outreach. We believe in the power of prayer, and have a prayer line ministry and a group that meets to pray each week. Our Women’s group also does community outreach through various projects during the year.
We were the first community church in place, as Rotonda West was being established, and we welcome and love newcomers, whether you are visiting our area, have been in the community a while or are a new recent resident. Come and check us out. All are welcome! Come as guests, become family!
